‘We Are Artists’
Art School Manifesto

The Brief: Write a Manifesto for the Art School, communicating your vision of the future.

Arts education has played a significant role in shaping society, nurturing the creative thinkers who influence the world we live in today. In response to the ISTD 2014 brief, I developed and designed a manifesto envisioning the art school of the 21st century. Titled “We Are Artists,” The Art School Manifesto is composed of 34 declarations that emphasise the vital role of creativity within society. Every creative innovation we encounter today has, at some point, been informed by artistic practice.

The statements reaffirm the continued relevance of the art school. The accompanying images illustrate examples of the manifesto presented as a randomized pack, as well as potential ways it could be distributed to prospective students at higher education fairs and via online platforms.
